Priory Park is Reigate's principal town-centre park, a short walk south of the High Street. It covers around 65 acres of historic parkland and is one of the town's most-used green spaces.
Reigate Priory
At the heart of the park is Reigate Priory, founded in the 13th century as an Augustinian priory. After the dissolution of the monasteries it became a country house, and today it is a junior school. Parts of the grounds — including the lake and formal areas — are open to the public.
What's in the park
The park has a large playground with water-play features, football pitches, tennis courts and a skate park, along with open grassland and mature trees. Priory Pond is a focal point and a popular spot for feeding ducks and watching wildlife. A pavilion café serves the park.
Getting there
Priory Park is about a ten-minute walk from Reigate railway station and just south of the town centre, with entrances off Bell Street and Park Lane. It connects to footpaths leading up towards the Greensand ridge and Reigate Hill.
